After attending Ferris State University for my Doctor of Pharmacy degree, I completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

I spent three years in San Antonio, Texas, as a clinical pharmacy specialist in bone marrow transplant at the South Texas Veterans Healthcare Administration. Mayo Clinic asked me to return to develop an ambulatory care practice in stem cell transplant, and I spent the next decade advancing clinical practice, developing the PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy residency, and supporting oncology pharmacy research.

During my time at Mayo, I served as chair of the Pharmacy Research Committee and as assistant program director for Oncology Pharmacy Residency. I also led the implementation of video appointments with stem-cell transplant patients in their homes.

I maintain Board Certification in both Oncology Pharmacy and Pharmacotherapy. During my career, I have served in leadership roles for the American Society of Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT) and the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacists Association (HOPA). I am a current member of the American Medical Writers Association.

As a clinical pharmacist, I have published more than 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters, and abstracts subsequently presented as oral presentations or posters at national meetings. This depth of experience in clinical practice, research, and teaching led me to transition to medical writing in 2018. I launched Chimeric Medical Communications in 2019.
